Atomic Talent is partnering with a small and highly successful Engineering Design Consultancy with multiple offices across the North West that are seeking to further develop the structural engineering capability of their successful nuclear design team. Based out of their Warrington offices you will get the opportunity to work on projects across some of the most challenging nuclear sites in Europe whilst developing your career under a Senior member of the IStructE.

The main purpose of the role:

  • Work closely with the Principal Engineer to deliver first-class engineering projects
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships as an ambassador for the company
  • Produce high-quality project documentation
  • Collaborate with client design teams

Responsibilities of the role:

  • The Structural Engineer is a hands-on design role
  • Design delivery in discipline specific area through conceptual; preliminary and detail design phases.
  • Development of designs to satisfy functional technical specifications,
  • Liaison with client and project team.
  • Design calculation checks
  • Actively contribute to design reviews, safety reviews (Risk Assessments and HAZOP’s).
  • Produce design documentation throughout the design process including scope of works; design calculations; method statements; risk assessments; technical files & other technical documentation to comply with design standards; safety legislation/regulatory requirements & needs of the client.
  • Ensure quality and delivery of design documentation throughout the design phases.
  • Compliance with safety and statutory regulations.

About you:

  • Structural Engineering design experience in timber, steel, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standard
  • Fully computer literate and the use of CAD for preparing drawings and structural analysis preferably using CSCS Masterseries and STAADPro software.
  • Working in a busy and professional design office and operating with best practice
  • Preparation of construction drawings and specifications
